Description: Pottawatomie County Kansas has long been a stronghold for big mature whitetail deer and gobs of turkeys. If you look just north of Olsburg Kansas, you will find 162 +/- acres that are just south of the famed Tuttle Creek Wildlife Area that is packed with opportunities.
When I look at hunting land I try and envision how I would set it up whether it would be a box blind on this corner preparing for a southwest wind, or a blind on the other corner preparing for that hard late winter north wind that is next to a plot of alfalfa, standing beans or a feeder full of a corn and protein mix. Well, when I set foot on this particular property, I didnt have to imagine much at all because it is already set up and ready to go. In fact, this place is as turnkey as it gets unless you would just prefer to change it and make it your own. Each hunter is different, and I encourage hunting how you would like to hunt. However, if you dont have the time like many of my clients and just want to go enjoy the time you can in the blind, then this is your place. The property I am lovingly calling the Olsburg 162 is a special place indeed. It is home to 20+ acres of tillable ground that has been used for alfalfa production over the last few years with part of it being standing beans. Both are a constant draw for wildlife in the area. If income production is your desire, then let those acres act as a constant income year over year to pad your wallet.
I have yet to go to this property without seeing deer. The terrain change with the high ground acting as a food source gives this a Texas Sendero feel that will allow for long rifle shots if desired. If you are a bowhunter, the area has dozens of pinch points that allow for an infinite amount of ambush sites while that record book deer comes into range. There is a pond almost dead center of the property that has a funnel leading to it in two directions with water for all critters to seek. There is also a creek on the northwest side to complement the year-round food and cover on the property.
The Olsburg 162 currently has three box blinds on its resume in addition to one spin feeder and one 3,000 pound outback feeder that could tell stories for a month of Sundays of the many deer and even a herd of elk it has seen over the years. All blinds and feeders will convey with the property. The trail camera pictures over time are nothing short of beautiful. If you were to set up a couple of text trail cameras it would only be a matter of time before you saw a giant on your phone from the luxury of work or home. From there you simply play the wind, take that much needed day off, and then add to your taxidermy bill for the year. Make no mistake this place is begging for a giant to be slain every year.
